This summer we launched our #languages4schools project: Thanks to our language learners, who contributed tokens with every language they purchased, we will be able to give language learning licenses to schools for free this September. Until today we were able to collect over 20,000 tokens that go directly in our #languages4schools fund. In occasion of the European Day of Languages on September 26 we look forward to donating 1-year language course licenses to schools in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
Earlier this month, we presented our project to Gary Lineker, England’s greatest ever striker, who still holds the record for the top goals scored in World Cup Finals for any English player. Gary immediately decided to support our project. Read here why:
“Speaking Spanish and Japanese has opened doors in my career and helped me bridge cultural differences, both in my personal and business life, so I’m excited to be working with Rosetta Stone on their #languages4schools campaign. During my football career I realised quickly what difference language skills can make. When I was approached by Rosetta Stone to support #languages4schools, I immediately agreed to raise the flag for languages together. Over the last months language learners collected tokens for the #languages4schools fund. This gave Rosetta Stone the opportunity to donate language courses to 300 students in inner-city schools all over the UK. #languages4schools puts schools and their investment in languages in the limelight. It will not only spark curiosity among young people, who can use the latest language-learning technology for a year, but will also raise awareness for languages in the general public.”
