As president of Rosetta World Inc., a subsidiary of Rosetta Stone Inc., Tak Shiohama oversees the company’s operations in Tokyo, including Japanese strategy development, all local market sales and marketing initiatives, the company’s Japanese Web site management, product fulfillment operations and financial systems.
Prior to joining Rosetta World, Tak was director of value engineering for German-based SAP Japan, the world’s largest business software company. Previously he was head of corporate strategy for Cybird, one of Japan’s most successful mobile Internet ventures. Before that, Tak worked for Tokyo-based Askul Corporation, one of the fastest growing and largest direct marketing companies in Japan, where he held the position of vice president, marketing and many other roles. His career also includes working as a strategy consultant for Accenture and A.T. Kearney.
Tak earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago after studying in Chicago, Singapore and Barcelona. He also holds a bachelor of economics degree from Osaka Prefecture University, Osaka, Japan. He enjoys skiing, traveling and Aikido.
