<< BackRosetta Stone Launches Seven Languages in Version 3 with New Audio Companion™
2008 December, 1
It won’t all seem Greek for much longer because Rosetta Stone, award-winning language learning software specialists, today announced the UK launch of their revolutionary language learning software in seven new languages: Dutch, Persian (Farsi), Greek, Hindi, Korean, Polish and Swedish.
Joining a suite of 14 languages already available in Version 3 – of the 31 that make up the Rosetta Stone stable – this new software improves pronunciation, intonation and tone while creating a fun, interactive environment to learn to read, write and speak a new language.
This innovative Version 3 software is based on the Dynamic Immersion® method of learning, which works through showing, telling and repetition rather than tedious translation and grammar drills. Version 3 is also the first Rosetta Stone software to include Audio Companion™, an on-the-go language support tool that can be listened to while out and about.
Further Version 3 Rosetta Stone® learning features include:
- Proprietary speech recognition technology that focuses on oral competency and speech analysis to refine pronunciation, intonation and tone.
- Contextual Formation™ feature that facilitates language production from the first lesson by placing the learner in the right context to intuitively know how to progress.
- Adaptive Recall™ feature that tracks progress and brings back material for review at the correct time to reinforce learning.
- Milestone feature that tests improvement with real-life simulations.
- Improved self-paced, sequential learning that builds knowledge progressively.
Steven Wines, European Managing Director of Rosetta Stone, says, “Everyone has the natural ability to learn a language but it’s important to choose a learning method that works for you. It is not surprising that some people find languages difficult when they are taught primarily through drills and repetition. Rosetta Stone champions the fastest, easiest and most enjoyable way to learn any language, through Dynamic Immersion. This works in the same way we all learnt our first language.
“Our new software goes even further to help people hone not only their reading, writing and speaking skills – but also their pronunciation – so they can build their confidence against a native speaker and really start sounding like one of the locals!.”
