Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3 comes complete with Parent Administrative Tools to help parents manage their student’s language course. The Administrative tools assist with lesson planning, viewing student progress and generating reports.
Lesson Planning
Lesson planning can be a daunting task for many parents, but Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3 includes the tools you’ll need to plan an effective language learning course for your child. If you have never taught a foreign language course before, or don’t speak the language being learnt, use the predefined lesson plans to help students work towards and achieve their learning goals.
Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3 lets you plan a Full Year Curriculum and with Alternative Paths of Study, you have the flexibility to meet individual language learning needs.
Full Year Curriculum
The Full Year Curriculum allows your student to cover an individual Level of Rosetta Stone over a full school year. This curriculum integrates a comprehensive path through the software, suggested Cultural Activities from the Parent’s Guide and instruction materials to strengthen the student’s language learning experience.
Alternate Paths of Study
Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3 lets parents choose from eleven different study paths depending on the language learning goals of their student. Each path focuses on different aspects of the essential skills needed to develop a new language, such as listening and peaking, or reading and writing. This method of study can often help students progress through the programme more quickly than the Full Year Curriculum.
Testing
With Rosetta Stone Homeschool, your child’s language knowledge is tested and reinforced at regular intervals as they progress through their assigned lesson plans. The review exercise is then repeated at a later time in the lesson plan depending on their previous score in that exercise. A student with a lower score will see the review exercise more quickly than one with a higher score. Upon achieving a satisfactory score, the review exercise will no longer be repeated.
At the end of each unit, Milestone Activities give students the chance to participate in unscripted conversations using their new language. They will utilise the language learnt throughout the lessons and interact with what they see and hear onscreen. After successfully completing the Milestone Activity students can then proceed onto the next unit.
Reporting
The easy-to-use built-in reporting tool gives parents the ability to view, print, and export student results. These reports contain useful information including:
The Parent’s Guide included with every Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3 contains more information on lesson planning, testing and reporting as well as a detailed sample schedule and cultural activities.
