Arabic Learning Tips
- Arabic is written and read from right to left.
- Spelling and pronunciation in Arabic are consistent and uniform.
- There is no differentiation between upper- and lowercase characters in Arabic.
- Arabic nouns take three forms: singular (for an individual item), dual (for two items) and plural (for three or more). In Arabic speech, the dual form may sometimes be ignored.
- Arabic nouns are separated by gender: masculine and feminine. Verbs and adjectives alter to correspond to the gender of the noun.
- The Arabic language has one verb form for actions that have finished and another for those still in progress. The future tense is created by adding a prefix to the ‘in progress’ form of the verb.
