• Hangul is written from left to right, with a space between words.
• In spoken Korean, the pronouns ‘he,’ ‘she,’ and ‘they’ are seldom heard. They are generally replaced by names or common nouns - for example, ‘the man’ or ‘the woman’.
• If the meaning of a sentence can be understood via the conversational context, the subject is often left out.
• Instead of saying the words ‘you’ or ‘your,’ Korean speakers frequently refer to someone by his or her name or occupation. With strangers, the word ‘teacher’ is used as a sign of respect.
